I have fond memories of a 2.0 Countryman my Mum and Dad owned. It was brown - that brown. And had the 'proper' wheel trims. In fact it was identical to this one I just found after a quick google:

 

 

But the reg was "H490 AAT". Had it from 1997 to 2000. It got broken into 5 times and stolen once. It was used in a robbery and had done over 1000 miles since my Dad had parked it from where it was nicked. I remember going to see it in Dixons' Yard in Hull after it was found. It was trashed. Utterly filthy.

 

My Dad and I both cried.

Spotted the car that prompted this thread today at Raby Castle (Ooop North) car show sporting a £1100 price tag and new MOT. Looked pretty tidy.
