Need eyes - looking for my old car (Escort Si)

Can I ask for help from fellow autoshite enthusiasts.

I am looking for the car that I had when I met my wife 16 years ago, it's a red Escort Si 3-dr, registration P457 SEU

It's showing on the DVLA website as untaxed from 1st June 2010 and MoT expired 25th January 2009

I part exchanged it at Carcraft in Newport in August 1999 so it may be in the South Wales area but could well have moved anywhere in the country by now.

I have tried filling out a V888 form asking the DVLA for the current keeper information but the refused it as simply wanting to buy an old car back is not seen as sufficient cause for them to release the information.

If anyone knows of its whereabouts can they please let me know, Thanks

I'd be 99% sure it's gone to the scrapyard. It might have been of sentimental value to you, but sadly to most it's just an old Escort. Shame though as there aren't many SI's left.

I'd read somewhere that if the Tax Due date was anything other than the 1st of the month on the DVLA website then it has been scrapped. As mine was showing 1st June, I was clinging to the hope that it may be tucked up in a garage or under a tarp in a garden somewhere although I sadly think you are right :-(

Enter the reg on askmid and it will tell you if it's insured, if not it's probably been scrapped

Showing as not insured, I'll give the V888 one more go and see if they will provide the information this time. Thanks everyone

Say it was parked on your property 0.0000000003 seconds outside of the time printed on some toilet roll nailed to a lamp post in size 3 writing, and you would like to extort some money with menaces. They'll be singing like canaries then.
