Jollyfckr Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I'd like to swap my Merc please, I love it but I have no real need for it anymore. Enormous inside and 7 seats! Dog guard, boot tidy and load cover. 1998, 106,000 miles Jap import, I'm the third owner, 1st owner brought it home to the UK, second owner lost the history! MOT March 2016. It has cruise, power locks, windows and mirrors and it enormously good fun to drive. Starts instantly, rides nice. A bit beaten and scraped but no rot, see the photo. It could use an oil service. Gearbox is spot on, bit of a diff whine but not bad. Plakky bag got caught on the exhaust so a bit smelly. Faults are, BAS light comes on occasionally, but doesn't affect it, diff whine, dents and scrapes, will need a pair of tyres soon. I do have a second hand brain to cure the BAS light (probably) but it almost never comes on instantly and it passed it's MOT like that, mainly because the light didn't come on until I left the garage! The car is normally bombing around South London being practical and fun. I like all vehicles and I'm not fussy so swap for WHY! I am struggling to load photos so please email me on viscount.basingstoke at gmail.com and I can send you lots!
NorfolkNWeigh Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 BAS light?Brake Assist System. Usually shares a warning light with ESP or ASR which are traction control. It's a load of bollocks that can usually be reset by doing some sequence of things including turning the steering wheel lock to lock 3 times dabbing the brake pedal and howling at the moon or summat. Sometimes a dodgy brake light switch can cause it to come on .I have a theory that it's somehow connected to the corrosion in the front wheel arches. Taff 1
Lord Sterling Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I really like these, but I ain't swapping my gangster squad S124 280 estate. Sadly I don't have a car I can/want to swap (anymore) so I won't yet be joining Autoshite's W210 KrEw. red5 1
Jollyfckr Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 that daft BAS light is nowt more than an irritant tbh

I would love a car that had a corrosion warning light Twiggy and Bear 2
Bear Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 W210 and CLK owners would have to remove the sodding bulb.
