What cars to bring back from France to make cash monies ?

I think my Dad realises if he bought 2 door Range Rovers he'd never make any money because my 3 brothers and me would just have them off him for either what he paid or less! That's if he didn't keep it himself, he uses a S1 as his everyday car in France and spreads the long journeys between one of 3 Discos, he even towed his TD5 Discovery back from France on the big trailer behind the Series 1 once when the bottom pulley seized on the Disco, I wouldn't want to have been stuck behind him then.

Old Fords are a bit boring ,but to make a few quid I can see the sense, Yanks don't look any cheaper than here and the market appears to be saturated.

I like the idea of an old Renault,Citroen or Peugeot just so I can smoke it around for the summer, although I take the point about limited appeal away from here.

As for actually making a profit, what about exporting  5 year old Laguna's to France?

Sod the profit, do it anyway. You'll get more to a boat if they're cubed first, mind.

In that case, spend some time investigating what to look for on DSs and bring one of those back. There are still plenty of unrestored ones to be had in more obscure parts of rural France and the British market has less of a problem with lhd DSs than lhd Rangies, I'd say.

Not sure how much French resistance there is to RHD, but they certainly ask higher prices than we do for Jaguars. Ultimate trip - out in a nice 40, back in a lovely ID and a grand or two in the bank after costs.

Funny you should say that, apparently a guy in his local Classic Car Society (I know I know ) recently paid about £7,000 for an average looking XJS 3.6 that he picked up over here and thinks was an amazing bargain.

As for French resistance to RHD , not much, but in 40 years time every fucker will claim to have been against it! And want a medal.

One of those special Renault 5's they have over there, than can overtake at 40 mph on a hairpin bend in the alps

But that's what he became a father for!

Sons have no obligation to provide. Fathers do.

I would have the first three without hesitation! The CX looks pretty straight in the pictures.
