richardmorris Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Thinking ahead a bit, but can anyone recommend any upholsterers to repair a car seat?Either N Wales/Cheshire or Surrey/Berks ideally. Thanks,
barefoot Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 I can recommend a specialist auto trimmer in Loughborough but repairs can normally be done by any old domestic upholsterer.

mat_the_cat Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Martrim are good, I've used them for all the upholstery in the van.http://www.martrim.co.uk/ Very happy with the quality of the work they did, and I also had a look at some of the car interiors they had in at the time which looked tidy too. Biggest plus point is that we were going to replace all the foam too, but kept the original on their recommendation as he reckoned we wouldn't gain anything. Anyone who does themselves out of a sale by being honest is worth a mention in my book. If you wait a few weeks I'll be able to give feedback on this bunch too:http://www.paintandtrimltd.co.uk/ I'd have preferred to stick with who I know, but these are only a couple of miles from work so decided to give them a chance. Only a small repair on the driver's seat base, but I'll report back on my Stellar thread...
DeeJay Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I'm an upholsterer. The hardest part about repairing any upholstery (car or domestic) is getting a match for the existing fabric. If it's the interiors any upholsterer could replace them.

If it's the interiors any upholsterer could replace them. I've thought of that! I am in the process of acquiring three door cards with the correct unworn material ( vampire skin fragility alcantara).
