New tyres on their way in the post anyway so overspray not really an issue

This 2K lacquer is really nice stuff.  Don't use without a good facemask though because the fumes are seriously dangerous.

The wheels aren't perfect but they are very shiny and look great from 5 feet away.  Now I know what colour they are I can touch them up with the same paint, or respray sections or whatever as needed.

There was also a can of primer filler stuff but I forgot to take a photo.

Where did the laquer come from? Is that the one where you have to do something to the can to release the hardener?

I bought it on ebay.

You shake the can, then you press a button on the base of the can hard; this breaks some kind of internal seal allowing the lacquer and hardener to mix.  Then you shake the can for two minutes, then you can start spraying.

Once you press the button the can must be used within a few hours, after than it can't be used.  One can did four wheels quite well with two or three coats.

Like all 2K paints the fimes are extremely dangerous.  I have a 3M mask that I bought from a local paint shop.  I couldn't smell any fumes so I guess it worked.
