Land wind range rover copy

I was reading this morning about the copy the Chinese have made of the land rover evoque. On sale soon in china for £16k. I bet land rover are fuming!

 

Can't imagine the quality would be up to much. Its probably powered by a Maestro engine.

I doubt LR really care very much. Hardly anyone in China could afford to buy their genuine products anyway, and those that can will buy them regardless.

I can imagine popping the bonnet and there being some monkey metal copy of an A Series sat in the engine bay, or beneath its body lay some cart springs.

China is a big buyer of Range Rovers. Note that there is a 30% tax on top as well; they are approximately twice the price of here. Mercs are 3 times more expensive.

I thought the biggest aim for all car makers was to break China? Which explains why all cars look like a shiny, baubly, chintzy, blingy piece of shit.

Top Gear did a good programme on the very subject, Chinese government said their copies are nothing like the originals !! lol.

A lot of Western/established Eastern car designs are derivative, the Chinese are just more blatant about it.
