Could be wrong but it looks like someone's put the filler cap on from a HCS or Kent in. These had a breather attached

That's half a filler cap, the top half has been pulled off

Oh yeah, that much I do know! :) It seems pretty much stuck hence why the top just came off in my hand. Will give it another go tomorrow.

Ah, thank you! Will hit ebay up for a proper one then.

Squiggly gauze mesh stuff useful for oil lines that connect to the sump/intake, as it's a flame trap. Any new pipes don't tend to come with, so keep it about in case you gotta change one.

As said the top is missing, give the body of what's left a twist as you pull they have a large o ring that sits tight and can get stuck, laser that is the correct oil cap for your car carb pinto sierras didn't have a breather take off

This is what you need

Don't worry, the top is there - it was me what pulled it off! Gave it the old 'pull and twist' this time and it came off in the end so all is well now and it's oiled up like a good'un again. :)

I've heard you can hammer the smaller Anglia one over the top if it gets stuck again.

I tried that with limited success. My mate suggested hammering a 103E cap onto it
