I haz ovlov 240 - I'm Losing again.

Another ovlov afternoon. This time it was the turn of the front wheel bearings.

Do you ever have a job where everything goes without hitch? You always wonder what will go wrong. I had one today. Everything came undone with ease. OK I had already had fitted new calipers and discs.

The old races drifted out easy and the new ones went in easy using the old races and a block of wood.

Then it all went back together with no bother.

Road test tomorrow now, so we'll see if it will bite back!

These are the old races - you can see the wear in them;

Well after a good holiday in the south west of Scotland and 1600 miles the ovlov continues to get under my skin.

First a 6hr job to change the clutch slave cylinder. Whoever thought it was a good design to put a cast iron cylinder into an alloy mounting!

Now I have a water leak from the back of the head area, just on the eve when I was going to use it for what I bought it for; towing.

So I need to find out if it is just the heater hose/pipe or worse - the h/g...................

Thank goodness for a "reserve" vehicle.

Hopefully it'll be something simple like a weeping hose or loose hose clamp.

If the HG is leaking, assuming it's not contaminating the oil or getting into the cylinders maybe K seal or similar might do the job. Not that it's hard to change the gasket on these!

Hi Dan

I'm not sure what it is as the "substance" is thin but has a brownish tinge to it. As the a/freeze is blue it is either rusty water or oil.

My main fear will be the exhaust manifold nuts as they look as crispy as a Walkers. I may be able to get the down pipe ones off but they don't look much better.

I hope it is water rather than oil otherwise it will be another fight with this thing. I'll have a better look next weekend when I'm back.
