Well after scouring the net I can't find any info on what it may be. Looks like I'll give it a miss

Ahhh ok. Cheap and simple fix? Like I said it starts good hot or cold just when it's been stood for 10/15 minutes

Mine had starting problems, so I took the sensor out and have it a clean at the weekend as it was covered in crud.  They are reasonably accessible underneath the 'stat housing, and the hoses make it a bit fiddly but do-able.  Just don't be a dick like me and try and put it back in the wrong way around.  I spent ages cursing why it wouldn't fit...I woz tired, that's my excuse.

Fires up immediately now.

Edit: So £220 with full ticket, plus a cheap fix, equals even more of a bargain.

I was going to suggest coil but the above could also be the culprit. Seems a bargain even with the fault really, could well be an easy fix. Go for it.

Location of said car?

Car in derby,I've got a punto instead now. If it of interest I can pass his number on

That's got to be worth a try for someone at £220 with a (hopefully) easy fix hasn't it...?

Hopefully someone can get hold of it. They are not bad things really. Mine cost 20 odd quid from ebay lol. I spent that in T Cut as the paint was flatter than a flat thing but it came up a treat and sold to a bloke in the north west.

Kind of wish I'd kept it. Ho hum.

No probs, I offered it round but nobody was interested so I cleaned it and found a full service history and spare keycard under the seat!

May as well fix it up, can get dash done for £100, got to be worth £1000 done
