I've found the best long term solution to faded plastics is a wipe over with brake fluid - use no water, allow to evaporate naturally - then to begin with a weekly application of Autoglym vinyl treatment, reducing to fortnightly and then monthly as the plastics hold their colour properly.  It takes a while to get set up but once it's done you'll find the plastics don't fade at all.

Have you found the built in mobile phone holder yet, Mr Duke?

Top man - should do sterling service with a tickle here and there. Front brakes need strip and pads/carriers de-crudding (I should imagine). I did the completely mal-adjusted rears as a matter of urgency....23 clicks on one side...handbrake cable was so tight it twanged...:-)

Miss it already.

I use panel wipe and the the autoglym bumper care, seems to to the trick on the old Kia and Reliant plastics too.

Always liked Protons, especially cos badge addicts up their eyes in repayments look down their noses at the mere mention,  reverse snobbery win.

Oh bollocks is that right inboard front discs, try not to change the bloody discs then, haven't done one of these we did my lads Hyundai Coupe many moons ago and pressing the hub apart destroys all 4 front wheel bearings in the process, making it an expensive ball ache of a job.

I'd be interested to know how that holds up medium/long term? I've heard linseed oil mentioned, as well as using a hot air gun - and with both the instant results look great. But heard nothing about what it looks like after a few months (especially in the Welsh rain...)

I have several pieces of black plastic on the Stellar to tackle shortly!

Just done the Forester plastics with peanut butter ( smooth variety) look almost new and is supposed to last a long time.
