This is a 525i Auto. On a G plate it will be the earlier M20 12v engine (as carried over from the E28) with 170bhp or thereabouts.

 

I had my eye on both this and a K reg 525i Sport (with the later M50 24v engine). For all the Sport has some nice kit and had full leather, this car reminds me very much of the F reg 530i Auto my dad had when I was a teen, so this was the favourite. It was on eBay, so if I hadn't won the auction I would have plumped for the 525i Sport instead I reckon!

 

I loved the 530i my dad had, so much so that it inspired my first car - a K reg 520i!

I had a lovely diesel auto tourer one a couple of years ago ( did a cracking deal with a gold Pug 205 I couldn`t shift)

 

sold it to someone local, it broke down a week later on a bend, he walked home and when he went to recover it next day, found it had been wiped out by a truck!

 

That BMW isn`t there now, I`ll have a look later

I'm just on the edge of the North Yorks Moors, nestled just outside Guisborough.

 

The pic was taken at a pub on the A684 just outside of Northallerton heading over towards Bedale (where the Rover I viewed was located).
