That 1.4 dohc goes well in an Astra, must be like poop off the proverbial in a Corsa.  I wonder if they geared it high enough - the Astras got the CR gearbox which I don't like at all, far too undergeared.

Every corsa b I have seen with the 1.4 lump in has been an autO. DidnT know the 1.4 astra had the close ratio box and I'm sure the mk3 astra was single cam in the 1.4 too. I had a p plate astra sport with the 2.0 16v lump and that went quiet well.

Mk3 Astra's had various 1.4s, the most common the hopeless 1.4 8v SPi 60bhp C14NZ, then the 1.4 8v MPi which I think was 82bhp, then the one the same as in that Corsa, the 1.4 16v X14XE.
