Someone has contacted me through youtube then email about a 305, they bought it last week on ebay but have bit off a bit more than they can chew, it isnt starting, and its rusty

This is a link i was sent with photos:

Its located in cardiff and the chap just wants it to go to a good home, even if it was free it would still cost me at least £400 to bring it home to NI, and at the moment i have enough 305s to keep me busy

Saw this beauty yesterday on the M25, still working for its keep by the look of it.

The driver fixes clocks in towers and not only should be on here,he should be the poster boy for AS.

Love that tower clock specialists 305, the xud numberplate is very appropriate and the big dent in the drivers door adds to the workhorse charm of the 305.

As for the vera, how many did peugeot make? Surely it should be kept in the peugeot museum. Although im sure whoever buys it wont be abusing it.

Although is there anyone interested in this car, i said to the chap id ask on here, it wont be very expensive as he was prepared to give it away to me, it might be a bit far gone to restore but does have plenty of useful bits.

I suppose i might aswell make this thread a build thread for my own S5, at the moment the rotissarie is finished, and the 305 is spinning around, its been done a week and i really should have got to the job of burning underseal quicker but only got stared into scraping underseal off yesterday evening:

there is some rust to tackle, but not as bad as i had expected:

Made a bit of a blunder last night, only one wiring loom is left in the shell for the back lights and i set it on fire, hopefully the spares van i have contains a good loom.

It could be doing with new wheelarches and 1/4 panels, does anyone know of weld in panels that would suit the 305, it would save a lot of time faffing about trying to make new ones or ones off another car suit.

I started looking at the rust on the other 305's tailgate, none of mine have good tailgates:

What is the best way to deal with this rust, DIY?

This brings back memories in the late 80's when i worked for Rochester motor co the local Pug / Talbot dealer i was given the job of reshelling a 305 estate.

I had quiet corner of the workshop to myself with a freshly painted beige body shell on axle stands with a lightly rolled 305GRD beside it.

Enjoyed doing reshells the only down side was breaking loads of little trim clips and the like and spending ages at the stores counter indentifing and ordering replacements.

A late 80's Pugeot 305 gtx estate in that graphite colour would make an excellent daily today much like a Izuzu powered met green Cavalier still would.
