Mondeo thermostat

Changing the thermostat this weekend on a mk3 2.0 pez. Dearest thermostat I've ever bought at £30 but anyway access to remove it looks akin to keyhole surgery requiring me to go in through the space occupied by the headlight. Anyone tackled this job before?

I've done it on a TDCi and it was pretty straightforward, that is however of no use to you as the pez is probably totally different (was that long ago I can't recall exactly where it was on the dizzler)

Done it Sunday, took a few hour, you are working blind basically, trying to get 3 6mm nuts back in. I'd heard they don't always seal very well, so bought OE thermostat and gave it a smear of Blue Hylomar on assembly. Hopefully good for another 120k...
