How can it get same mpg at 30 and 75?! Either way it's not too bad for a ages old designed engine and box

 that 35mpg was on the urban cycle, which was ever so many runs upto 30mph abd stop, then back up to 30mph, soz i dint make that clear in the other post...

The trouble is that too many drivers are terminally clueless. One of Mrs Case's friends stated that she wsas frightened to go on motorways because of all the trucks passing by inches away. When I pointed out that by driving at a steady 56 mph she could be quite happy as she would be going at their speed and neither have the trauma of having to overtake them or be overtaken. She looked at me as if I was trying to explain how to land a Boeing 747. Skilled, safe driving ought to be looked on as what in Jane Austen's time was called an Accomplishment, and anyone who can't hack it have the same social disgrace as one who couldn't play the piano in 1820 Bath. Then we'll see some vaguely competent driving around

I despair of drivers round here. I live on a one way street but at the top of the road where it goes back to normal, it seems to be easier for the idiots to ignore the big no entry signs and come barreling straight down here - nearly collected one the other day as I turned into the road and he was on the wrong side of the road, going the wrong way, He did at least say sorry...

 

Check braking just seems to be the done thing, no one can just drive at a speed without braking for every corner, deviation, oncoming car.

 

Knew a woman a while back and she conformed to all the stereotypes that I previously disbelieved. In one journey she hit the car behind pulling out, hit the bollard when parking up, went down the outside of a long line of queing traffic as she thought it was parked, and it was foot flat to the floor on throttle or brake. It was a totally horrendeous experience....

Same again tonight - overtook an audi a4 turbo plodding along at 45mph.
