Similarly I'm getting fed up with the amount of 2CV-branded stuff we get. I try to tell my family that we just don't do Christmas presents, but they keep coming. The best Christmas present I've had is finding my polarising filter - I managed to leave it in a coat pocket back in August and have been wondering where it was since then.

We've mostly got everyone round to the idea of not giving Christmas presents now.  My wife and I get each other something moderate, but that's about it.  She gave me a book and some DVDs, and I gave her some boxing gloves.  (Yes, really, that's what she wanted.  Last year it was a set of chisels.  I'm not making this up.)

My wife is from Formby (well from age 8 anyway) and would never describe herself as posh.  However the charity shops are good for work clothing!
