Went for a wee mooch aboot to an old mine winding house today. The mine closed in 1989 and this looks as though it was old British Coal colours so probably been there since closure.

DVLA says it was a 1986 Escort 1.6 L that's been of the road since 1994.

That's a Blue 1.6 Ford Escort, tax due in 1994 so racked up a few fines by now.... Lasted 8 years and has been there for 20!

Richard, you would never know it was an old mine winding house it just looks like an old farm shed now.I used to work there when it was a mine. I might go back tomorrow and get a pic for you.

I saw a good sherpa yesterday as well:

 

 

D-red and owned by an old guy with a big beard, it had the 1.8 B-series diesel and the wholt thing shook side-to-side on tickover. He left it running as he went into Smithsons for summert.

Probably the first van I ever drove. I think it had a 1700 O series engine or whatever they were called. It wasn't too bad, but a later Peugeot engined LDV400 2.5 diesel felt like a fucking rocket in comparison.
