...when your suspect heater plugs/ropey old battery [delete where applicable - the former in my case] get found out if they're not up to snuff.

 

So when the shit hits the fan it's always good to have a mate handy with the jump leads:

Now that is the way to get a jump start! Well, at least it is if you haven't got a Class 55 Deltic to hand. I actually fitted new glow plugs to my Astra yesterday, oddly enough. Well I fitted two anyway - one wouldn't come out with my crap spanners and one I couldn't get to without taking off half the injection system, so only cylinders 2 and 4 got new plugs. It still started first flip this morning though - a great improvement on the 30 seconds of cranking it took before spluttering into life before. And the cloud of grey smoke has gone too.

However I think the scene is reversed at First Scotrail's Depot in the mornings - well it would make a nice original and comic reason for the delay, over the tannoy anyway.

You did, Mr R, you did. Alas, I was too lazy to do anything about them until it was waaaaaaaaaay too late... as for the clutch I'll definitely take you up on that kind offer, but the old one ain't broken yet Anyway, all that keeping the revs down malarkey is GR8 4 GETTIN 55MPG.
