Cars that refused to die

What about Nissan Bluebirds from the mid 80s to early 90s I still see plenty of these around and looking pretty damn solid too. There is a 1989 model just up the road from me I think he has owned it from new, and it is in excellent condition. Why do other Nissans not survive like Bluebirds?

There would be a lot more bluebirds too if they werent the banger racers chariot of choice.i find them gobsmackingly dull but i agree they have unbeliveable durability

http://cars.aol.co.uk/motoring-galleries/the-cars-that-refused-to-die/gallery/4488?photo=1So er.... why do we only see the Lancers and Ishitusu's about today? They missed out all the REAL cars, the ones which still exist now.Like Golf's, Land Rovers, Lada's, Festers etc.

I think they mean cars that had long production periods, or went from one manufacturer to another and still being offered - like the Mk1 Golf, which I think is still made in South Africa, or the Avenger which had a 19yr production run, as it was made by VW (after taking over Chrysler Argentina) until 1989. Cars that are very durable in terms of lasting a long time - I would include Pug 205, 309 and 405, Polo Mk2, Golf Mk2, Volvo 200/700/900, UK built Bluebird and Micra K10, various Toyotas and the BMW E30, which seems to last longer than the E36. Same with the Merc 190 and W123/4 200-300, these will last much longer than the shit(e) models that replaced them.

Mine's ace! I'm glad I found a higher spec one in a metallic colour, and a pre-facelift one at that, as I do think the later solid colour models are a bit dull-looking. I'm happily using it as a daily, confident enough with it for winter use that the Camry will soon be off.

Argentina also had Renault 12s and 18s well into the 90s, didn't they?Peugeot Nigeria have stopped making 504s full-time, but apparently will make you one specially if you ask them nicely - they cost about £20k, though!
