Czech Moskvitch restoration

I met a chap in the pub the other week who owns a couple of Mostkvitch Kombis. They are fairly rare here (CZ) as most of the decent ones went back to mother Russia.

Anyway, he sent me some links to a forum showing his work. The thread pages run backwards for some reason, so start at the bottom of the last page!

 

The work he is doing on the 1971 car is extremely impressive.

My first Moskvich 2137 (combi) was made in year 1979, I bought it 2 years ago and it is in relatively good condition, you can see some pictures of this car here:

I always remember my dad telling me how he was waiting at a junction to turn right when a brand mew moskvich went past him on the pavement because the brakes had failed.

bloke i know said one of his relatives had on and all the wires of the loom were red cos thats what colour the factory had that day!

they needed a replacement when it burnt out and when it came it was black!
