Will new VEL rules affect selling chod?

Aiui, driving without tax is a fiscal misdemeanour and not something that the police would get involved with. No insurance or driving license is a totally different issue, and clearly far more serious.

I suppose you need to organise insurance before picking up a car so the tax will need to be the same.

Correct. For just over a week, then it's all change. I echo Bollox's wisdom. If the car was taxed, just drive home, then sort it out if needs be. Of course, you will effectively be able to tax a car for just a month with the new direct debit system I guess. I look forward to testing that. The 2CV will be going Direct Debit on 1st October. Hopefully.

Cort is right.....the whole direct debit thing does not start until November so for cars with Tax expiring next week (30/09) you need to stump up for 6 months or a year.

BMW tax is due next week so thats £126.50 or whatever it is, otherwise I would of gone down the Direct Debit route.
