Cataclean has anyone on here have any experience with the product.

I just wondered if anyone has used it with any success as I'm picking up my new car up on Saturday which has running issues ( Cat or Lambda maybe)

So I was going to throw a bottle in the tank and give the car an Italian tuneup to see if it improves things on the way home.

I just wondered if it was a miracle cure or just snake oil.

Cataclean FTW. My mate sells a fuckload of that stuff from East Antrim Motor Factors. The trade seem to rate it, too.

EAMF has a secondary unit used as a store, and it was broken into about 18 months ago. Cataclean was the only stock that was nicked.

Yes, I use it every year on my wife's Avensis at MOT time (the car has a partially blocked pair of cats in the manifold so the engine light is on all the time, I can't justify the £400+ replacement cost).  Bung it in on a low tank (< 1/4 full), Italian tune-up, knock out the engine light with a code reader as I get to the MOT station, job done.

If your car has a cat, it's too newfangled and should be replaced with an older one.

So much for Cataclean.

Buying a car with a known fault.  Full autoshite points there.

Apparently sticking the cat in a tub with washing powder is quite good, if you can be done with getting it off of course.

I'm far too lazy for that, it's snake oil or nothing lol.

I may also disconnect the MAF on the way home to see if that sorts things out.

As junkman has said it's too bloody modern but I'm having trouble finding pre 93 cars now on the cheap in good nick (by good nick I mean it has wheels and engine) even my old dinosaur Audi 80 had a bloody horrid Cat which needed renewing.
