Hello, good day, how are you?

Well as per the above post - it happened. My beautiful V6 has moved on to a new owner, but being on short working hours (cheers mr bossman ) and actively looking for work the other end of the country means that I couldn't really keep up with the amount of fuel the V6 was chewing through. Thankfully my mechanic came to the rescue and did me a very nice deal which meant that I swapped the V6 for this car, plus cash my way. He had a buyer lined up for the V6, so the cash I got back actually covered my financial interest in the old car, so I've effectively got a free car.

It's a Rover 75 of 1999 vintage with a half decent spec list and a diesel engine. The car had been stood for two years unloved and unused because of a craced heater matrix. All is now well; the mushrooms growing from the carpet are long gone, and all the mould has been cleaned off the seatbelts. It's got a fresh MOT (with no advisories!) on & is ready to roll towards the ever looming 300,000 mile mark. A quick flick through the (very extensive) service history revealed that less than 500 miles ago it had a new turbo, clutch (inc master and slave cylinders) and brakes as well as the preparatory work my mechanic has carried out which includes: droplinks, lower suspension arm, heater matrix and new carpets.

When I first went to cast my eye over it, it looked like this:

It looked a bit more complete when I took delivery of it:

And even better after a wash:

I've been tooling about in it for the past couple of weeks, and it seems all good. I got a few bits tidied up, like the previously bodged door barrel, oil and filter change, screen washer hose was pissing screen wash everywhere under the bonnet and I added an extra thermostat (common modification) as it wasn't getting up to temperature. I think I've outlaid about £40 so far. It does however need the alignment doing before I put my good wheels & tyres on it.

I have also spent today on the interior so it's a bit cleaner and little bit more homely:

So there we have it. Enjoy.

You must definitely win a prize of extremely high value for taking that on, but I'm not sure what. Perhaps a peerage.

Well done.

Its only got 27 thousand miles on it. He's just photoshopped the decimal point off.

Because tat looks like a sub 50k car to me.
