Renault 16 - Four Together

The very first thing you see in the very first episode of "The Persuaders!" is a black R16.

 

 

That car was actually maroon, and the reason I know was that it was my dad's car!  In fact, my mum drove it in that scene as I recall.  They met Roger Moore who was apparently an absolute gent (Tony Curtis not so much!)  I think it was chosen as it was a left hand drive car, can't remember the story as to how dad got hold of it but must have been a very early one.  Here's MTW 818C in our holiday garage around 1968.

I have leched over this very car at the owner's place in Farnborough...
