FS: Subaru Justy 4x4 heap

250 quid buys this.

No tax or MOT, rear arches halfway repaired (all rust cut out) (with full arches supplied). There isn't a lot of rust, it's a day's worth of welding.

Engine runs but carb is an arsehole.

Really want to get this on the road, but the only feeling I'm getting is "Just get it out of my sight". Sick of looking at it as much as I am trying to sell it. Sold as parts/repair/scrap.

It still looks like this (photo is about 2 months old) - but the rear arches have been trimmed ready for new panels. It really is otherwise a solid and tidy car.

Started inspecting the sills on the MR2 and found them worse than I anticipated, so now the MR2 is definitely for the chop - gutted, I did 40000 faultless and fun miles in that thing.

That Justy's a fine looking machine Dave. It's not the one Will_Switch_Engage had is it?

Sad news on the MR2. Is it beyond saving?

Yes, it's ex-willswitchengage's.

The MR2 was fixable until I pulled the section that connected the back of the o/s sill to the body off with my hand. It's a complex bit of metalwork there, and there are other areas to do as well. The previous repair had used 0.5mm thick metal for some reason. Welded over the old rusty metal. I'll never get round to fixing it as a brake caliper fell off the shelf straight through the windscreen a couple of weeks ago, and I bought used calipers for the rear which turned out to be non-working.

I'm measuring up the 4AGE engine for the Justy, but it looks a couple of centimetres too big. Either way, having two off-the-road cars gone is a good prospect.

I could never live with myself if I'd done that to one of my projects.

There are benefits to having all my spare parts and tools permanently scattered across the floor.

BUMP!

I always thought these a good looking car, though I'd not be in a position to buy even if it was on the road, sadly.

GLWS.

Got it up for £200, if anyone wants to make a cheeky offer to geht it shifted aht of my unit!

Hey, how about sticking the MR2 lump in the front of the Justy, connected to the back axle via a RWD Corolla gearbox?

Yeah, there'd be some bulkhead hacking to do, but the results could be fun.

I've measured the 4AGE with the Justy engine bay and it's 2 inches too wide! It would mean weeks of work which I don't have!

I'm on the Wirral!

Devastated about the MR2, I had a happy couple of weeks last summer smoking around in it. Surely the Lotus rims must be worth a few quid? Just try and bodge it and I know a tester that makes Ray Street look like our own Albert Ross.
