Does anyone else dip in and out? It's a bit like your engineer Uncle and his Rover 2000, who keeps adding bits and making improvements, updated for the 21st century. Not afraid to de-bunk electronics and make improvements with them for loose change, Edgar explains a simple-ish mod to alter the amount of regen braking on a Honda, asks if car designers have lost the plot, makes a homemade fire alarm for the workshop, messes about with intercoolers and goes down to the local scrapyard for bits. I enjoy plenty of what he has to say, he can't stop fiddling and trying to improve things but is honest enough to own up to a daft idea, or one which doesn't work.

It's all quite autoshite, to an extent. Here's a taster:

I like it, it's a really good website I like the way whenever he does something he properly tests it and like you say if it doesn't work he is honest about it.

However I have noticed that recently the 'new' issues seem to contain articles that he already published which makes it a bit confusing.

It was very interesting reading how he no longer gets invited to new car launches because he used to publish honest opinions about them, i.e. if they were terrible he said so.

I love Baruth's stuff on The Truth About Cars.

Curbside Classic is another good site.

I seem to remember CAR mag was ignored by Volvo in the 80s, for having thoroughly pissed them off with poor reviews. Didn't Ford withdraw all their advertising, too?

It's exactly why the likes of What car? are a bag of wank, as they suck the cocks of manufacturers press depts who spunk the most money that quarter on advertising.
