Silverstone Classic shiteFestival

I know any self respecting shiter should have been next door looking at Allegros and Alfa Cherries , but I have little self respect and my kids bought me and MrsN the tickets for our Silver Wedding Anniversarry.

I was expecting a sea of Ferraris and Astons along with wankers in pink trousers and Panama hats. I wasn't disappointed ,but there was still a lot of normal people and a few normal cars.

The racing was amazing , some of these old millionaires really don't give a shit and are 100% committed in every bend.

Sadly one poor sod ,paid the ultimate price in the pre66 GP race on Sunday; RIP Mr Denis Welch - although if I could go out like that at 70, it would sure beat having a few more years ,then slowly fading away lying on a trolley in a rundown hospital muttering incoherently and smelling of piss.

Anyway here are some top quality* pictures.

It's even a 72, if this doesn't tempt him back nothing will.

It seems this is the TIT Robin Reliance equivalent of a Stratos kit car.

The Dolomite is hardly free-tax ringing when it's still on an X-plate! Which is slightly late-plate madness.

Nice to see some alternative photos from this event though.

Denis owned the Austin-Healey specialists in Yoxall, a few miles north of me.  Sad loss.

My mate was competing in the classic F3 races driving a March 763 (which may / or may not have been the ex-Tony Dron Unipart car).

Reckoned it was possibly the best race meet he'd been at - The demise of poor Mr Welch excepted, obviously.

I was tempted to pop over for it, but had too much on at home in Eire.

Next time...!

There was a big 50th Anniversarry display of Mustangs, approx 25% of them Highland Green fast backs of any year. This one even had the Charger option.
