i'm sure for the same labour of fitting a new engine your son could probably repair the engine or is it really that badly blown? Why not visit a few scrappy's instead of obliterating an otherwise good Metro?Number of scrappies in Jersey=1Number of A series to be found therein=0I wanted to buy something running, as bitter experience has taught me that anything on someone's garage floor claiming to have been "re-built" will have been anything but. Hey Col, I know where there's a couple of inactive 1.3 Metros, might be worth knocking on the door to see whether they run/are available or not, let me know if you're still after an engine.

Panic over, young sir's engine not quite as banjaxed as we first suspected, although the turbo is fubared, but we're sending that off for a re-build. Couple of snapped piston rings, and the bores need a bit of a hone, but the rest seems ok.
