Not sure whether I understand the question correctly.

I suggest OBD2 software, but that can't be what you are asking.

Our y plate 1.8 put the Eml and airbag light on once. Was the connector under driver seat

Yup - generic OBD2 software should allow me to read codes but I'm trying to find out what I need to reset stuff like service interval lights and emls etc. Will this be manufacturer specific?

With the 90s Citroens before the EU forced everyone to go OBD2 you needed a Lexia..

52 plate Mondeos are the worst - a hodgepodge of diagnostic stuff dumped on the model before the law changed.

I don't think you'll be able to change stuff with a generic code reader, it'll probably read codes and clear them, but you might get some unexpected codes coming out of it.

To change stuff it's gotta be Lexia. Or a hammer.

That's about the limit of my knowledge, although it might be useful to know if it has com2000 as there'll be a lot more you can do on it using Lexia. If it aint I don't think there's much you can change anyway.

The various snap on diagnostic machines are better than lexia on this age of psa machine , not as detailed but much faster and clearer overall . If you are in the nw area im known to offer free plug ins , or at most make me a tea while i have a look :-)

I have a snappy ethos plus and its a great little machine . It might not cover as much as say a bosch kts but its ideal for 90 percent of diagnostic work and as carlos said its fast and nearly as simple as I am.

*&^%$!!!

Bloody PSA ignition lock fault - the barrel gives up the ghost and the key gets jammed. wiggling removes the key but the barrel is worn out of alingment with the switch - seems a common fault in 100k upward schoolrunmobiles from PSA of early noughties.

Stalled the car to switch it off, disconnected the battery.

I might as well change all the locks and the ecu as well as the doofer is borked anyway.

About 70 eengleesh pounds on the bay for a decent used kit including dealership code key card.

Mrs S will be using the XM for the next week methinks.
