Man with a van

Title says it all. I need a van in Wakefield for only an afternoon or so to move some scrap. Top prices paid and you get to look at least 3 fiestas!

Friday would be best after 1? What kind of prices?

What kind of work needs doing?

Some bits of drain pipe, radiators and a cooker need to go from Stanley to Horbury to start a new life as bean cans

Is the drain pipe chopped up? Would it go in the 305 of doom?

EFA.

It's in about 3 lumps but can be smaller as it's cast iron. Cookers normal size

It's both! Gas on top electric oven. Is brownish and needs a proper good clean as it's been in the garage for about 2 years but still works. Yours if you want it

Posted

Yes please!  It is the missing piece in the house move puzzle.

EDIT:  Does it need a cabinet to fit into?  I just realised we need a free-standing jobby.

It's a free standing thing hang on will see if I can get a pic

Providing it's suitable - sounds it so far - I can collect too, probably on the way up North as Wakefield isn't too far removed from the A1/19

As I say it's very dirty, think that's plaster on the front and has been in the garage ages. Has a glass lid over the hob (couldn't get a pic as crap on it)

Yours still if you want it though :-)

Forgot, that that looks very brown above the door is a bit of burned muck as the seal failed. It had a new fitted

It fits the required criteria of being a cooker, moderately local, free and as a bonus is a manufacturer I can both pronounce and recognise.  So yes, I reckon we'll take that off you.  We even have a certified fellah that can plumb in the gas all legal like.

I shall speak to Mikeknight shortly and arrange something regarding collection dates and whatever.  I'm hoping we've had a bit more progress from the estate agent.

For the svm and other scotoshiters that means something completely different..

Congrats on scoring a free cooker though:)

Consider it yours and saved from the scrap. Still need to get the drain pipe there though

If it's only a drainpipe, I can probably do that if it'll fit in the Xantia, or on the roof if there's some way to tie it down to the rack.  No fee, as I'd be getting a working cooker.

It's cast iron but there's also about 3 or 4 radiators that need to go too

We have a moving date so I'd be free on Friday if that's still of use to you?  PM me your address and I'll figure out how hopelessly lost I can get trying to get to it.  I think it makes sense to pick up the cooker, dispose of the scrap for you and then move the cooker from here with the removal van next week when we should, apparently, be moving.

Make sure you give us a photo of the newly valeted cooker. Just to make the shrimp wonder why he didn't keep it.

Hang on I'm getting confused and think I've got my wires crossed?? Angyl pm'd me said he'd be here today, but, he was coming with you to do it all at once? So as you have no van, it's no go on scrap and cooker today or just cooker or anything???
