P.S. Surely Onslow started the fashion for keeping an Avenger in the garden? That show started about 1990 didn't it? Victor Meldrew also had an Avenger, before he spent all his redundancy cash on a Rover 216.

He must have done, I've seen probably as many Avengers in undergrowth as I have in fine running condition. Just take a look at a Flickr search for both Hillman and Chrysler Avengers, you'll see loads in undergrowths.

 

Onslows Avenger was CVK 326K, 'VK' is a Coventry number and Keeping up Appearences was made mostly in Coventry, Onslows house was only a street away from some sort of Peugeot factory/works.

 

Victor Meldrew never had a Rover 216, he had a Blue Honda Ballade. I think he was supposed to have a Rover but Keeping up Appearences got there first.
