DaveAspley Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 As per the title, I'm desperate to find this car. I sold it approx 13 months ago to a local ebayer, it then disappeared from radar and I've just found out that it's run out of mot and tax. It must only have 70 odd thousand on it from new by now, full military history and had a £1200 trans rebuild. Keep your forum eyes peeled shiters! A reward for it's capture!!!!!!
Jim Bell Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I remember seeing that for sale on RR? Looks amazing. Hope its not brown bread.
DaveAspley Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Yeh I bought it from RR for £1250 in 2012. Drove it back from Southport on 7 cylinders and set about giving it a damn good seeing to. Sadly a house move and an interim period living with the in-laws saw it going on eBay. (Used it every day, including work, did several breakdown jobs in it) , fond memories of early spring 2013 when I took the exhausts off to build a dual system and fired it up on open headers. We all stood round it sipping beer listening to it go "big potatoe big potatoe big potatoe big potatoe big potatoe big potatoe big potatoe.....small potatoe.......ahh shit it's run out of gas" Jim Bell, Junkman and beko1987 3
eddyramrod Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I must have some pics of that car somewhere! Sadly not in this computer though, I've just looked. I've exhibited my cars alongside it at various events around Southport. It sounded lovely back then (2005-9) and looked pure Rockford Files. I hope it's still alive.
Alexg Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The HPI report is not showing it as scrapped and shows last keeper change 15/02/2013.... Edit, do you not know who you sold it to?
DaveAspley Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Thanks Alex, not on the slow boat to China yet. We moved twice since it went so sadly I've lost the details of who it went to.
Alexg Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 But if you sold it on eBay you might be able to uncover the guys username somewhere. Is it still possible to load up the listing from 15 months ago to see the winning bidder, or maybe it's in your feedback? Failing that search your message archives or, if they've been deleted, your email inbox for eBay message alerts that may giveaway the buyers username. Did you speak on the phone? Check your phone bill from that date and go through the numbers.
Partridge Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Ask Classic Car Buyer if they'd been kind enough to put the pictures on social media, the editor's pretty sound and would probably oblige.
