Citroen immobiliser's ?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know what year they started fitting  keypad immobilisers ? to Citroens

Do they work well ?  or just stop owners driving them ?

They were fitted to Xantias from the start, I'm not sure if they were fitted to the XM before that though.

Like most security devices they are an inconvenience only to the owner.

I'm more inconvenienced by the glow plug warm up time than I am by the keypad in my Xantia.  Ask me again in six months, I may have a different opinion.

Disconnect the fuccker whilst you still can.

On the ZX it was 94/05, as mine has neither airbags or a keypad (Early 1994).

I agree with volksy, waiting for glowplugs to go off takes longer than using the keypad, and you can just remove the keypad if it's that annoying!

No idea about XM's, I think S1's did have them but I'm not beardy enough to tell you from which RP number etc...

Take the dash apart, get keypad removed but still connected, pijn in turn engine on, unplug pad and job jobbed. Then refit the unplugged pad back in with the pin written under it somewhere in case the next owner likes them/it doesn't work/you needs it for some reason.

Plus the hole it leaves is quite large!

Have to say !mine has a much handier cubby hole without it!
