Cleaning an oil contaminated clutch plate. Is it possible?

Some BMW bikes have a dry clutch like a car, and have such issues with leaking engine / gearbox seals that you can actually buy an oil resistant clutch plate for them:

Nah, it’s approx £140 for a full Rover P4 clutch. The previous owner replaced it but it’s soaked in oil as the rear seal went. Seems a shame to bin a “new” clutch but that’s what I’m going to do!

11 years resurrection? Wow. £25 now is probably less in real terms than £14 then (no fact checkers were disturbed in preparation of this post)
