Caliper rewinders

Need to do rear pads on mondeo hence need the rewind tool to retract pistons into caliper. Seen the generic tools on eBay for £20 and the laser kits specific for ford at £30. Which should I go for? Is the cheapest likely to fall apart in my hands?

I bought this

(or something that looks identical) a few years ago and its been great. Quite alot of surface rust on most bits now due to working in the rain, and the screw thread needs a drop of oil to stop it binding under pressure but its been faultless so far over 5 pad changes! Certainly no quality issues, although the bits that turn the caliper are held to the tool by a small magnet that is a bit shit, so the end falls off if your not careful.

if it is a mk3 mondeo, one of the calipers is left hand thread, so you'll need 2 tools.

The kit I linked to does both, just need one or the other windback bit.

Gets confusing when you put the wrong one back in the wrong place though...

Both come with left and right handers. Was just wondering whether the laser one would fit/work properly for the sake of another tenner.

I used a large torx bit to rewind my Mondeo pistons.

Used a pair of needle nosed pliers on my last cougar.same as mondeo just take your time to give the seal a chance
