So, last Sunday at Goodwood....

Amongst the utterly "common" Ferraris, Lambos and Astons up at Goodwood's Supercar Sunday I thought a few pictures of older/rarer/downright shite would be of interest to you guys. In all honesty there were some gems out of the 500 or so cars there, but not as many as I'd hoped. Anyways, enjoy!

Started off well! Though being a new shiter I did feel a tad silly taking a pic of a Saab and an Escort with all the horsepower about

DeLorean - not exactly supercar performance!

Wait, that says Bristol. On a 56 plate?

VQWC0m9.jpg

Yep, a Bristol Fighter. Gull winged, but 1 of apparently only 9 built.

WuwZ4ga.jpg

Morgan AeroMax. Fortunately visited the opticians and no longer "Cross eyed".

Ok, not shite, but can anyone spot what the rear clusters are from?!

JBU3rOv.jpg

Only a couple of Esprits about. Actually there were more current Lotii Evoras and Europas here, and bearing in mind these guys have been selling fewer cars than MG, that's quite an achievement!

Mmm, wedge AM Lagonda

babE1mO.jpg

A rather tastefully done Vanwall F1 replica

Ok, I did think this was a BeEm at first. I r FAIL!

OGlStmj.jpg

Mmm, Black Panther

xDSQYmH.jpg

Intersexor in probably my favourite colour. I'll keep an eye out for "yours" if you read this BV72

Alpine fresh

Nice to see a tarted up repmobile...

Facel Vega. Other than being the "French Bristol", I don't know much about these

Can someone come up with a collective noun for Ariels?

YpHmQGA.jpg

Gordon Keeble - love the marque emblam!

6EyaeSx.jpg

Ah, another FX4 rear cluster candidate

IvJ39VH.jpg

Marcos Mantis or Mantaray. Either way it's a lovely late 90s purple

And to finish everything off, on the way back to my car a Maloooooooooo

I went off home making lots of Vee-engined noises like a 5 year old. Happy days!

Gordon Keeble for me please!

Wow, those Holden utes seem so boring mundanely everyday over here but it's always nice to see one in a different setting. Marcos went through a terriby styling era at the end, eh? Looks like a chop shop creation. Plus, I'd heard about the Bristol Fighter but wasn't sure whether one had ever been ordered, as it was all a bit shrouded in secrecy, as per the Bristol fashion. I don't think any journalist has test driven one, for instance. Didn't it have some wild claim of 200+ mph and 1000+ bhp, in an era before the Veyron?

Would be the Gordon Keeble too but as Mouseflakes is having that, I will take the Lagonda.

The light cluster is from a r8 rover 200

Also the Morgan aeromax has bini headlights

Rob T gets the metaphorical cookie.

Yeah, the Morgans were Beetle units on their side (I guess), and then repositioned with binis according to that there Wikipedia.

Wow, that looks like a genuinely interesting show with a lot of stuff you simply don't get to see normally. Lagonda wedge! XJ220! What is this, one of the Breakfast Club meets?

Posted

Yes, this was the first, and probably most popular, Breakfast Club meeting of the year.

Not at all on the AS-centric sphere, but I'm not going to be forgetting a Pagani Zonda slowing down as he went past a grinning me on the completely empty A27, then absolutely gunning it very soon!

There were at least 20 each of 911s, 458s, Gallardos and DB9s. And 2 McLaren F1 GTRs.

Didn't even get time to look at any bikes either!

Did you miss the yellow Batmobile?

Also, the blue interceptor was the one in the superb Top Gear 'The Interceptors' spoof 70s TV intro.
