Sierra Misery

Yes the inner headlights were dummies on some.  And guess who bought a brand new headlight not realising it?

Looks an interesting car.  It is possible to fit arch liners from later cars onto Mk1s, I have some too.

The Belgian ones seemed to last far better than the Dagenham ones - just stating facts sadly.

Didn't these have a Pug engine or something like that?

Yes. The press reckoned that it was good business for Peugeot: they got paid for the engines AND the Sierra was so bad that it was the perfect advert for the more modern-engined Peugeot/Citroen offerings.

Ford got stitched up by Peugeot

The version i heard a long time ago was that Ford had signed a contract with pug for the 2.1 and 2.3 Diesel engines for the Sierra and Granada  and ford were thinking they would now be on a  level playing field  with them for  Diesel cars  , but  not long after ford had signed a 5 year deal with  Peugeot  they  bought the XUD out which made most other diesel engines look like a bad joke

We have 2 mk1 sierras both built at genk one is solid and the other is rotten as buggery that's lovingly known as project tea bag

So not all genk sierras are equal
