What do we know about the Peugeot Indenor diesel (circa 77)?

Looks like I'm going to need info on one of these 1816cc motas.  I suspect I now own a knackered one -only detail I have is 'we drove it 100 kms  making strange noises before it stopped working''.

So, can I ask -are they easily repairable? Are the parts readily available or am I going to be hoofing it all over t'continent trying to find a good replacement?

What were they fitted too might help too, please. I'm not a diesel doofer- I've little idea where to start.

Here's the culprit.....

Was that one on Leboncoin, not far the other side de la Manche?

That's a very nice van Mr Bickle.

Would the 2.3 Indenor that was fitted to most diesel things in the 80's (Sierras/504/505/some Indian 4x4 thing?) fit?

Take it apart first, maybe there isn't much wrong with it.

Knackered ones are rare - they are about as susceptible to damage as an anvil.

Ed. yup the one in St Malo, currently sitting in a sidestreet as they've moved house! Intention is too keep it over there, as a useful tool..

Junkman, thanks ,that's good to hear. Having dismantled a petrol one, it was a bugger to get out as the space is very constricted, the sump a really strange shape (making accurate jacking really difficult) & an altogether pain in the ass.

Cool. I'll be interested to see more pics of it. I was eyeing it on Leboncoin but the logistics of getting it back up here were a bit problematic. It looks quite tidy.
