Sorry your going to hate me as I STILL can't work out how to do the pictures thing...But I have so much love for the early mark 1 Espace that I have two of them.

A blue D reg which is in lovely order, but has been tucked away in a lock up for about 5 years now. I bought it some new tyres last week and it will finally be off for a new head gasket and MOT in the next couple of weeks.

A silver C reg decorates my front garden, it came off ebay a year or so ago as an MOT fail, but it's in one piece and will give up some rare spares. If you think plastic cars don't rust then think again, all the door frames are gone and the steel frame around the windscreen is shot.

The wheels on the Copart one are correct, but mine has a set from a 18, which are a cross cut design in black and silver and just the best evar. Shame its going to cost 500+ to get them re-furbed and shod, so that's about twice what the car cost.

Practical Classic recently sold there red one...

Hmmm, I wonder whether an Espace should be on my mental shortlist, of spacious cars with reasonable ground clearance which don't rust? I don't mind fixing electric faults, in fact out of any faults to repair then electrics would be top of the list. For that reason I'm also looking at Mk1 Freelanders...

Fitting that you should mention Mk1 Freelanders in a thread where viscous couplings are being discussed... They fail on the Freelanders and cost megabucks to sort out (along with the IRD thing). You can get the bits though. It explains why so many Freeloaders are FWD only.

That blue one with the spots looks fab! Until recently there was a 2000-1 living around the corner.

Espace returned with MoT, Roy hard at work doing fixages upon heaps various.  MOAR BETTERER POHTIZ

Espace has two litre fuel injected engine.  Swiss spec car sold to someone in Zurich when new, so emissions control stuff knocks the power down a bit.

They look cleaner in the base spec with no sunroofs and rails, very very nice. Will check the scrapper for your needed bits. I have a spare set of the original alloys in need of restoration if you fancy them.

PM me for contact details.

Make red5 an offer!  There is still at least one Fronterror that he has not yet owned, so you never know, he might take: CASH.    One such Fronterror went for 210 quid at an auction the other day - seemed sound as a pound but no keys or V5 as it was a Repo.

Im lusting after a fronterror, a SWB which I'll fit a lap belt in for occasional 5 up duty.... My head says I should buy a Forester, but my heart wants a Fronty

It looks like they thought 2014 looked like, in 1964.

They've even got the blue colour correct

BTW, although the steering wheel on the donor HPE won the initial skirmish, Roy returned and defeated it in the renewed engagement, thus maintaining his unbeaten record.   The wheel was tighter than Tight Jock Mc OffensiveStereotype.    This win came not before time, as the stalky unit on the Volumex was in bits, with various things on it broken or about to break, and the unit from the donor car is much better, as is the cowling for the steering column.  Roy has also devised a tailgate strut mod that improves on the original and stops the very heavy tailgate falling on yer head.  One of the headlamps was full of water, so that's been swapped with the donor car, and so on.    Next swap, bonnet release cable.

The Landy, as well as new plugs and oil, now has proper illuminated switches for the after market reversing and rear fog lamps that a previous owner had fitted.  The lamps were not working but now are.     The exhaust manifold is cracked at the end but I found a new one for buttons on eBay, so that goes on next week.  There is also now a lap belt for the middle seat in the front.  I may put lap belts in the back  (inward facing bench seats), simply to make mums shut up when my daughter is sitting in the back with her friends, as I can then point to the largely ineffective and mostly pointless belts and assuage their craze for safety innit.
