Seriously rare shite you owned

I was sent a picture of it a few years ago, a subsequent owner seemed to have done a pretty good job of improving it. Don't want to check the reg though just in case it comes back as scrapped.

Found a few more pictures of some of the rarer shite I have had. They are scans of old photo's so rubbish quality

Fist up my old 25 V6 turbo

Then this delightful little thing. They were a modified 5 Gordini turbo and called a Le Mans. Not many were built and this was a one owner before I got it. Some serious rot issues though but brilliant handling and great fun

Finally my old Jensen 541 de-luxe. One of 53 built I will never be able to afford another one now.

Have had a matalic blue Chrysler 180 1.8L back in the late 1980s. Had to buy my first welder to keep it on the road. I liked the car nice drive never let me down. It just was a rust old beast! hardly any left now in the UK dont think any 1.8s left on the road.

That Jensen's georgeous!

Thanks it was a lovely car I bought it in '98 as a wreck then restored it. The paintwork cost 3 grand back then but was starting to craze slightly by the time I sold it in 2001. After all the hard work I had put into it I couldn't stand to watch it go down hill so flogged it and bought a Maserati. Those were the days when I had money ! One day my numbers will come up and I will get another

When I bought her she was not yet rare: but become rare quickly as they've been bought by greengrocers (diesel ones) and boyracers (petrol ones). Bought it from a young fellow who said "it doesn't speed up as quickly as I supposed". Well, with a totally worn clutch it's not so surprising.. Spent two months with the welding as well. The headlights were the same type both sides, four different tyres.. Was a great projectmini-P1090225_zpsd68527f0.jpg

Yeeees, she's my babe..  This pic was taken in 2004, at a Fiat Owners Meeting. Since 2006 she was abandoned in a garage till last december, when somebody brought her to me. Can hardly wait to drive her again... 8)  8) 8)

Erm.

Had a couple of Piazzas, they're rare. A Mitsubishi Celeste, similarly hard to find. 460 Turbo is apparently the earliest left, GS and 305 are seldom seen - and G11 Charades...........anyone seen another recently?

I can't compete on the same level as folk on here, mind.

My wife has a 51 plate fiesta that has rear wheel arches.

Surely it must be uber rare then?

Not particularly exciting but got me thinking - according to HML there's only one of these on the road now:

Seat Toledo 16v (the one with the Golf GTI engine) not a bad car to be honest.

Also don't see these very often, HML says 180 Renault 19 RTs around but it doesn't differentiate between saloon and hatch or engine type - this was the 1.8 petrol offering a stonking 90bhp. Loved the look of it but it was a bit buggered mechanically.

We had a Renault 19 saloon, a 1.9D RL Prima. Even at the time (2003-2007) it was quite unusual. It's one of the cars I regret selling, after a bit of fettling at the start it just did what it was told.

I saw a red 16v Toledo go through eBay in about November, looked cracking

Of the cars I've owned, the rarest was either the Mk4 Cortina 2dr 1300 (in Diamond White) or the Austin 1100 Mk2 automatic. Both probably pretty common when new, but very rare in 1993-4 and 1998-2004 respectively.

Thinking about the Cortina reminds how uncommon white cars were in the '90s compared to now, it was easy to find in a car park just by a quick glance at all the roofs.

I suppose my VDP EFi Sd1 could be considered rare - not many sold new and few left now.

Not many Austin Atlantics left now. There were only 7000 made to begin with, and most were exported. Also, loads got engine raped for Healeys in the 1960's and scrapped. The A55 MK1 is the second rarest Cambridge variant after the A40. And I've only seen photos of three other Maestro 'Bases' still on the road. I don't have anything seriously rare though.
