Supercheap, and provided the front wings haven't corroded to nowt that is a hell of a lot of car for the money. Some feller on R-R has just bought an H-plate 300TE for 500 nicker and that looks lush too.I have a hankering for an early W124, one that hasn't been run into the ground though. I saw a really, really rough J-plate 300TD the other day barrelling along the A303 full of junk with some eccentric posh fella behind the wheel, sort of typical owner profile of one of these I think. It was belching more soot than a Passat TDI at full chat, how the hell it had got through an MOT (given that and the body rust) was beyond me...Given that the dizzlers (veg oil compatible) command mega coin and aren't that economical in real terms I'd probably plump for a six or a 230TE if I had one; a carb'd 2-litre with slushbox must be a grim driving experience in something this big and heavy.

Before I bought my Rover 827Si, I considered one of these. W124's are still very common in Europe, especially Belguim, my dad used to buy these day in, day out, I was a passenger in one of those once, very nice and smooth ride the engines are virtually bullet proof, but my dad advised me not to have the 2.0 version as its a heavy car for a small-ish engine, anything over 2.5's fine.

Yot get 2 years on a CT? Is registering in france a UK car still on par with the spanish inquistion?

no tis quite simple when you figure it all out , but a pain having to drive miles to sort it all out, but handy for resale if it has 2 years CT either on uk or french plates as you can still insure uk plated vehicles here although departments differ.. but my department dont really care..you can also get a month policies too, if you hunt right handy for buying and selling  i think they think im abit weird crazy english guy with 20 cars,:roll:
