scruff Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Does anybody in the glorious brown world of AS know anything about Isuzu NKR trucks? I have been offered a 2003 one at a very tempting price. If it was a better tool than my somewhat troublesome Sprinter I'd be tempted to put it on the road rather than punt on. Ta in advance!
twosmoke300 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Bloody good trucks . Awful driving position like all the coe trucks and parts prices can make your eyes water.
Cavcraft Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I think they suffered engine problems a bit at high-ish mileages. When I had my 609D Merc recovery truck I was tempted by an NKR, but there were a few rumours about engine problems at the time. That said I bet if the price is right and you can get a bit of work out of it, it'd probably export for a fair few quid.
scruff Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Cheers chaps. I did wonder about export, they seem to be popular. It's a 3 litre, is this the same as the Trooper donk?
scruff Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Ta Tayne, I just did a search and it appears that they have a different direct injection lump.
trigger Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I had one identical as this as a works truck back in 2001, it was brand new when i had it and i put 15000 miles on it in a year, It was a nice thing really, electric windows, central locking, light power steering, CD player, it was heavy on the fuel but it didn't help that i was often lugging about over a 1ton of sand or plasterboard and other shit about from site to site in it. It was very bouncy in the cab even when empty but it did pull well, the only fault mine one had was the aftermarket immobiliser packed up one day and it wouldn't start, just as i doing a spot of moonlighting which meant i had phone the boss up to get recovery, explain why i was in a strange persons driveway and then i got sacked the following day... scruff 1
scruff Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Cheers for the help dudes. I rang up to arrange going over there and I'd apparently lost it by 20 mins, snapped up by a tree bloke or something!!
