That's the new prices.  It's a pretty hefty jump but that's what happens when you don't realise you've been undercharging for a few years.  This price reflects the industry standard for the quality of my work, my professional education level, and the cost to produce the work and all the other associated small business stuff.  After all, my product needs to pay not only my wage but all the other expenses associated with running a small business.

Recently, I've started work on a new portfolio.  A local art gallery expressed interest in my work and suggested I do a presentation and while I do have enough work to put one together, I wanted to make something new and specific.  With the help of the good folks over on Mastodon I've done just that and am building a little portfolio of cars (and other modes of transport) used by Mums.  We kick off, perhaps somewhat predictably, with an Austin Mini City.  It's used now, and Mum has given it some nicer wheel trims probably from a Mayfair, and some head restraints for safety.

Originals and prints of these portfolio pieces won't be available until after I've made my submission to the gallery.  I hope the project is accepted once I've done it, there's a lot of work ahead of me to get enough new pieces together.

Thanks for this, really interesting and you have incredible skill. One day I hope I can afford for you to do one of my cars. I will try to find on the tv YouTube as can’t seem to find how to like & subscribe with my phone. Brilliant stuff though👍

Every year I create a hearse picture, usually in October, and for 2024 I opted to go for the Volvo PV61. Various coachbuilders provided the rear body and trim, while Volvo would supply a commercial rolling chassis and front sheet metal that was shared with the PV60 car. Hints of Pontiac are present, showing the influence America had on so many manufacturers at the time.

Known by different names in different markets, here in the UK it’s the Suzuki Vitara. A car that was the height of fashion in the early nineties and a surprisingly capable little offroader if needed, although you likely wouldn’t go green laning if you had the Fatboy kit like this one.

A very sharp bit of design work that is often criticised for being less than it was ever designed to be. In cabriolet form it’s a smart little people’s car ready for some sunshine cruising.

I really do need to get around to commissioning something from you.  Trabant is probably my current front runner - which would probably be an interesting challenge in that some of the proportions are so damned odd.

I always enjoy the negative space style, and I'm toying whether it could suit that.

It probably would, the Trabant has some good strong black elements and it's a really distinctive shape.  It's also one of the cheaper options.

This commission was right up my alley.  The customer wanted a little car inspired by the Microdot (designer: William Towns) and modernised so that it would suit a cyberpunk sort of world.

I had so much fun working on this piece for them and figuring out how to bring their idea to life.

Funky typeface for the badging as well which also lends itself to inclusion.  Of course I can't find a decent photo of it right now.
