Excusé moi for not being fluent in the language of shite (shitenese?) but could one of the locals please explain a few words for me.... bader? giffer? provo? and wob, i get it that wob is filler but i've always known it as cocky or tet. Muchas gracias.

Never heard of filler called tet

"Giffer owned" - car owned and well looked after by retired gentleman.

"Bader" - Automatic (Douglas Bader)

"Provo" - owned by the IRA.

I assume you mean "povo" - poverty spec - base model.

Bader, giffer, Mills-o-matic etc are all references to auto boxes. Povo (not provo) = poverty spec.

Also:  Barn find- something we've just dredged up from the bottom of the canal

BArn Find is usually any old "parked up for a bit" car, maybe.

^Instead of restoring a car for financial gain upon resale, it is now much cheaper and more lucrative to park it in a filthy shed for 6 months, letting rats piss on it and "pretending" its been there since 1974.   The fact that it has a sticker bearing "Mucus Green Classic Cavalcade 2011" should not detract from the false aura you have created.   Its what the antique trade used to do years ago - bury a new piece of German silver in the compost for 6 months and put it on a trestle table for some telly auction twat to "discover" and hold aloft to show all the "patina".   World is bollocks now.   This is the only sane place.

Execrable might be a good autoshite word. It means extremly bad or unpleasant, but could perhaps apply to models of cars which had appeal to the executive market but are in fact shite? ;)

Troo Phakt*: "execrable" is old English for "Vauxhall Nova"
