Another R9 up for grabs....

Great work Baz, always good when something shifts that quick - although I always then think "Did I price it too low"? And the PayPal fees are quite punitive...There was a very cheap 323F 1.8 on R-R, might still be there?

Yes, that was/is a BA....I've decided I want a BG!

I know where you can get a nice fliplight BG at some point if you're interested.

I will consult with the seller and get back to you, but I know it isn't ready right quite just yet, needs an MOT on it! It is nice though all I can really say is that it is a BG fliplight, it is red and it looks pretty tidy.

Looks like I may have found my 323f....A BG 1.6GLX (nice high spec) with F.S.H, full M.O.T, and 6 months tax, in my chosen colour of white, for not very much money at all....Collect it Saturday hopefully! :D

Baz, you're morphing from a Regie man to a Mazda man! :o

Funny you should say that Reg....I've been seriously considering changing our '06 Megane 1.5 Dci for either a later MX-5, Mazda 3, or even a Mazda 6 diesel for Mrs.Baz to knock about in....I think common sense will probably prevail on that though, because the Megane is a good, practical car, and SOOO cheap to own/run! :D

I think it's the whole Darren Bowker/Renault 20 business that's put me off Renaults, and on to Mazdas....That, and the fact that my MX-5 is just so BLOODY FANTASTIC! 8)

Don't get a Mazda6 diesel Baz - they eat their engines at very low mileages...

Would appear he's hoping it'll sell to a Guinness-slurper, wonder how close to four grand he'll get for the mk2 Escort he's also got listed.

Be careful guys, everytime I click on that eBay link to Baz's old car, my virus checker goes apeshit & tells me to abort the connection saying "Virus found!"!:!::!:

Blimey, those traders like their percentage, don't they? Good luck to him....Seemed like a decent enough chap!

Anyway....Here's a couple of pics of my new winter steed....

....I'll give it a proper thread, with some proper pics, when I get it home....I'm not expecting perfection for what I'm paying, but I'm quite happy as it's the colour/spec I wanted (in the abscence of a white GT anyway!), and my MX-5 gets preserved for the winter! :D

Looks good Baz! Starting to get rare nowadays, though I do see a turquoise non-GT every day. Did see a tidy black GLX yesterday. I can’t recall many problems with them, usual rot in the rear arches/filler neck area (there’s a big mud-trap there, get the hose and you hand in to clean it out). Don’t expect a big boot or commodious interior, which was sadly why ours didn’t get kept as a family car. Some carefully chosen alloys might be good? Whatever, I’m sure it’ll be a cracking drive. Look forward to seeing it some day!

Once I've actually seen and driven the car, I can decide whether it's merely a winter hack to be moved on in the spring, or whether I'll be needing alloys/lowering springs etc....We'll see at the weekend....I hope it's the latter, I've been quite lucky with the cars I've bought sight-unseen so far, but I guess my luck's gotta run out sooner or later!

Hell, everything I've bought in the last 5 years has been agreed unseen/driven...but I reckon you'll be alright.

What would you advise? If the car's okay like? I fancy black alloys on it, but I'd value the opinion of someone who knows what's what in the world of automotive Jappery!

My parents nearly bought one new, had a 24 hour test drive, but the delivered a 4 door saloon - no pop up lights  So no sale alas, a equally shite new Astra CD was bought in its place - quite acceptable in 1989

Nice buy, Baz! If you come across a passenger side front wing for a BG 323F on your travels, let me know as one is required.
