Vectra C anti roll bar bushes.

My Veccy is making some pretty orrible noises from the front end when i'm going over speed humps and the like. I'm thinking the front anti roll bar bar bushes are well kippered and I was wondering are they a easy job to change or like I've been told a nitemare?

Has anyone any advice?

Please bear in mind i'm only reasonably competent on the spanners.lol.

Thanks guys. Charlie.

Most likely to be the anti roll bar links on one of those. Also check the springs aren't broken, I think vectra c's have at least one gone at all times!

Not sure about the front ones, but if they are anything like the rear bushes then the parts are cheap but the labour is expensive. Think my old man paid 170 quid inc vat for the rears to get done on his 54 plate 2.0 DTi (main dealer right enough), parts were 6.95 each plus vat, plus some new mounting bolts etc so prob about 130 quid labour, which equates to about 2 hours.

However if its the drop links they are cheap and a piece of piss to do.

Ditto that, my old mans car seemed to have at least 1 broken all the time, strangely the drivers only broke once, it was the other 3 which kept breaking even though replaced everytime with genuine parts, that said all the Vauxhalls I've ever had have been bad for constantly breaking. No wonder they get such a bad rep for handling.

If its the links, they are fairly easy to change. You may need some locking pliers in your assortment of tools incase they dont come undone, and merely spin in the ball joint on removal ;)

I don't think its broken springs as the last one I had break made a awful noise on full lock and this do'snt as I've said though i'm no expert. Are there any easy  ways to check if its the droplinks or the springs?

give your front wheel the reach around...... grab hold of the link and feel if theres any physical movement (dont jack it up tho)... but be aware, sometimes you cant feel the wear by hand... so just change them anyway :)
