Veg oil heads up:

Recommended Posts

Bought a Merc recently which had been run on veg and the lady had a 'bucket of rats' hiding behind another old barge on her drive. Fortunately veg oil seems to contain the smell. But she couldn't bring herself to empty it - neither could I.

I applied to register for veg oil (somewhere in Newcastle, iIrc) even though I thought my litre per year useage would fall under the threshold. They were very helpful, said I didn't need to register unless I went over the 2500 litre limit or produced it commercially, neither of which I will.

I asked my mate the other day how much he gets paid for his waste and he said it's about 10p per litre, they usually take a few hundred litres at a time then cough up every couple of months or so.

Boss news from Costco: £16 for 20 litres today.

I'm going to have to try the Renault 18 on veg soon, just slightly worried it'll break something.

£16 for 20 litres in Costco today. I make that (probably wrongly!) 80p per litre.

Sounds about right Billy.

Wor kid Will (explosive_cabbage) is setting up to process WVO in a fairly big way. I'll see if he wants to share his experiences with you lot.

Leonard Peel esq told me the easy way of processing waste. Sadly I've not used any waste for yonks now, I did mean to try and score some more but the chippys round here get paid for it.

Will works in a pub and has secured a good weekly supply. He'll be paying, but it's cheap.
