...This time, the Citroen C8/Fiat Ulysse/Peugeot 807 triplets.

That's the kind of thing.  I spotted a C8 and a Ulysse parked together the other day, with a For Sale sign on the Fiat.  Looking closer, they do seem to have the floor layout we need, and both looked like decently comfy interiors.  A bit of a trawl on ebay turned up several automatics in all three flavours, so before I go looking seriously at one, is there anything I should know?

Obviously I'll be listening and feeling for anything dodgy on the test drive, and I'll be trying all the toys to make sure they work, but are they particularly known for any issues?  Does anything wear surprisingly well/ridiculously quickly?  Are they hard on suspension bushes, engine mountings, whatever?  I'm guessing the 2.0 petrol engine will be more or less the same as I had in my 406, which I found quite acceptable.  The MPV body might be a bit on the big side for it, but we'll see, won't we?

All help gratefully absorbed, as usual...

My other half has got a '55 plate C8 2.2 diesel. It is pretty thirsty though at just 28 to the gallon with the 6 speed manual. They are a bloody heavy old car to get moving but drive as well as can be expected. Make sure you get one with all the toy's and that they work. The electric sliding doors are great fun. The earlier ones have trouble with the plating peeling off the door handles and that's about it except for all the usual Peugeot diesel engine problems

That's all positive then, as diesel and manual are totally off the menu.   Thank you!

Pretty much every neighbor around me has one of those, if he hasn't a Kia Sedona. they can't be that bad, otherwise they would come to me asking whether I can fix something.

This is looking promising.  Thank you to those who've responded.  I've also been asking locally, and nobody's had a bad word for these yet.  Back to ebay I think, to find the most local automatics...........
