You loose some money on some, loose lots of money on others.

Yo, I sent them a message to which they never replied, I should have rung them up really but when I realised how many exhausts there were for Volvo 700’s I got disheartened and though ‘they’ll never have the right one’. A bit defeatist I must admit….!

This place doesn't seem to do 21st century communications, but the bloke is always on the phone.  He must have 30 Volvos out the front which are mostly complete and inside the workshop there are shelves and shelves of parts.  Plus a proper scrapyard around the back where you can walk around and take bits off with spanners.

Worth a try for the price of a phone call I reckon.  I can call in and ask for you, but I don't really know which bits you need.

It seems like, mentally, you have the car already half way across the bridge, who came blame you?

To be fair, as a Motor Engineer you have few peers, you are a clever sod so, if anybody can get it done, you will.

I hope you can save it.

I am slowly coming around spiritually to the idea of weighing this old thing in. I rang Garratts metals and they estimated it to be worth £180 on the scales > £40 hit in my back pocket. Does anyone want any bits off it?

Don't forget that £180 is minus the wheels, which you could scrap separately or sell on. Don't forget to fill the interior with shite too.

Just thought, the engines on these are all ally so you should get a few quid for that on it's own.

Actually, I bet you'd like a Bluebird rather than crush this poor old thing.

A load of bits have been pillaged off this thing today by myself and Dr Sigmund Fraud. Its getting weighed on Saturday morning!

Indeed, a most enjoyable* Sunday afternoon was spent taking bits off this 760.

I must confess, as I was driving there I was thinking that if the car was saveable I would just make an offer for the whole thing. However, closer inspection revealed that it really is a worn out old thing that even the most dedicated Autoshiteist would give up on. So out came the tools and the dismantling process began.

I owe Mr.B a public 'thank you', for being a legend and helping me with the dismantling. If it wasn't for his help, I would most probably still be there...

I should also add that there are quite a few useful bits left behind. So if anybody else needs spares for their 700/900 series, be quick !

Well the 760 left my posession yesterday:

Some of Lanky Tim's banger racing contacts scooped it up, paid £200 in cash and turned up exactly on time, couldnt fault them. I hate scrapping stuff but this car was just not happening for me and i've had to let fate take its course!!!

Fair play Bollox, sometimes things fall into place, sometimes they don't. You had a go I suppose.

It's a shame the paint was so shagged as it wouldn't matter what you did to it, it'd still have looked shit without a respray and that was never gonna happen.
